Married to Mary (nee Kane) Fitzpatrick for more than 50 years. They were members of St. Gabriel's Parish, Norwood, PA.

Father of Mary Kathryn Costello (John) of Prospect Park, Edward Fitzpatrick (Peggy, nee Mulroy) of East Fallowfield, Jerome J. Fitzpatrick (Nancy) of Winter Springs, Fla., and the late Daniel M. Fitzpatrick; grandfather of eight: Jason, Eric, John, Maureen, Edward, Timothy, Daniel and Michael.

Jerome D. Fitzpatrick. 84, formerly of Norwood, died on Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Mercy Fitzgerals Hospital, Darby.

He was the husband of Mary Kane Fitzpatrick.

He was born in Sharon Hill.

He gradutated from Sharon Hill High School in 1937.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was awarded the Bronze Star.

A long time employe of Baldwin's, Eddystone, and General Electric Co., Philadelphia, he worked in manufacturing in both places. He retired from General Electric in 1982.

He was a lontime member of St. Gabriel Church, Norwood.

A member of the Knights of Columbus, Marian Council and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, he was also a volunteer at U.S.O at the Philadelphia Airport. He was an avid Phillies fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ed Fitzpatrick of Coatesville and Jerry Fitzpatrick of Ridley Park; a daughter, Mary Kathryn Costello of Prospect Park, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Michael Fitzgerald (sic).

A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Church of St. Gabriel, Mohawk Avenue, Norwood.

Friends and family may call from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood.

Interment will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple.
