DEATH TAKES ANNA VALASHEK
Local resident, 79, Lived Last 53 Years at 627 Iowa Avenue

Mrs. Anna Valashek, 79, resident at 627 Iowa Avenue for the last 53 years, died at 4:12 p.m. Thursday at Mercy hospital after an illness of a few days.

Mrs. Valashek was born in Czecho-Slovakia October 12, 1868, and cane to the United States at the age of eight years. Her husband. the late John Valashek, a farmer, preceded her in death many years ago.

Surviving her are: seven grandchildren, including Mrs. Leonard Spratt, 226 East Prentiss street, 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Three daughters and a son also preceded her in death.

The body is at the McGovern Funeral home, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Donavan G. Hart, pastor of the Community Church center, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
