Stanley Harvey Cain Sr., 71, St. Clair, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, in Washington.

Mr. Cain was born in Richwoods March 14, 1938, the son of Harvey Lacey Cain and wife Lori Candy, nee Smith.

On Dec. 28, 1963, he was united in marriage to Dellavan Marie Scott, nee Pinkley.

He is survived by his wife, Dellavan "Dell" Cain, St. Clair; three children, Patricia Crowley and husband Gerald and Bill Scott and wife Linda, all of Poplar Bluff, and Stanley H. "Harv" Cain Jr., St. Clair; six grandchildren, Delain Scott and wife Anna and Christopher Crowley and wife Cyndi, all of Poplar Bluff, Jeremy Crowley, Joplin, Stacy Scott, Bridgeton, and Nicholas and Kayla Cain, both of St. Clair; three brothers, Edward Cain and companion Joyce, St. Clair, Albert Cain and wife Jackie, De Soto, and Bill Cain and wife Ginger, Hillsboro; four sisters, Dorothy Nickels, Sullivan, Bernice Thebeau, De Soto, Midge Salisbury and husband Otte, Hermitage, Tenn., and Maxine Drennen, St. Clair; four great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friend.

Mr. Cain was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a Christian and attended Lighthouse Baptist Church, St. Clair. He was a self-employed truck driver by trade and had hauled freight for about 40 years.

Mr. Cain was an entrepreneur and had done many things. He had owned and operated Payless Muffler and Cain's Merchandise and other various business ventures.

Racing cars and riding motorcycles were his favorite pastimes. He was a NASCAR fan with Jeff Gordon as his favorite. Above all else, he was a family man and spending time with his children and grandchildren made him the happiest.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 20, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Chauncey Clay officiating.

Interment was in Crestview Memorial Park, St. Clair.

Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association are preferred.

The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
