Frank Steed Luther was born in Florida to Dr. Oliver Perry Luther and Sarah Jane Emerson of NC (Sarah is the great-granddaughter of James "The Regulator" Emerson, a hero of the Revolutionary War). This Luther family are descendants of Christian Luther.
Frank moved to Bolivar, TN about 1886, and was prescription clerk in the Savage & Emerson's drug store for several years.
He married Miss Irene Whitaker in 1889, of Bell Buckle, TN.
Later he moved to Memphis and had his own drug store, later accepted the position of Steward of the Western Hospital in Bolivar. After service there of nearly ten years, he resigned and went in the fall of 1903 to Pueblo, CO, for the benefit of his health (TB?). The climate did not prove beneficial, and he soon moved to Chattanooga, where he engaged in yet another business. His health continued to decline, and he visited New Mexico, hoping to be restored. He rapidly declined and his Dr. advised him to return home.
Children: Mrs. Frank Whitaker Luther Blower, Oliver Perry Luther, Sr. & Sarah E "Betty" Luther.
Irene and the children resided in El Paso, Tx.
