Raymond Bird, age 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Bird of Greenville, died at his parents' home last Friday, May 21st, after a long illness. Raymond Harvey Bird was born Nov. 20, 1908, and reared in Madison County. He graduated from the Greenville High School and afterwards attended Struby's School of Pharmacy in Macon, GA and then was connected in business with his father in the Greenville Drug Co., until he was hurt in an automobile accident in 1930. For nearly seven and a half years he continued in an invalid condition, cheerful and patient until death relieved his sufferings. He was a young man and of sterling qualities, a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville. He is survived by his parents and by one brother, F. Carlos Bird, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. - Madison Enterprise Recorder
