Jackman J. Davis graduated from the U. S. Military Academy at West Point on July 21, 1814, and spent the rest of his life in the Army. His military career included duty at Portsmouth, NH during the War of 1812. After the war he was successively stationed in New York harbor; Detroit; Ft. Trumbull, CT; and Ft. Constitution, NH.
