Rites for Mrs. W. C. Blackwell held May 2.
Mrs. Maudie Elizabeth Rogers Blackwell passed away suddenly and unexpected at her residence in Brandon, Friday, April 30, 1976. She was 37.
A native of Covington County, she was the former Maudie Elizabeth Rogers, daughter of James Preston Rogers Sr. and Lucy Graves Rogers of Collins, Route 4. She was born October 27, 1938.
Mrs. Blackwell was a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Jackson.
Final rites were held Sunday afternoon, May 2 at 2:00 from Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas L. Craft and the Rev. Gerald Aultman officiating. Interment was in the Salem Baptist Church cemetery with John's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Surviving were her husband, W. C. Blackwell, one daughter, Dyanne Elizabeth Blackwell, and 2 sons, David Stephen Blackwell and John Dennis Blackwell all of Brandon; her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James Preston Rogers Sr of Collins; one sister, Mattie Lou Rogers of Jackson and two brothers, James Preston Rogers, Jr. of Collins and John Ira Rogers of Jackson.
