Lova Katherine Powell, July 17, 1912-July 11, 2005, Lova Katherine Powell, 92, Rochester, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. Born on July 17, 1912, in Macy, she was the daughter of Franklin D. and Maude E. (Zartman) Musselman. On Dec. 16, 1933, in Rochester, she married Ronald Powell. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2004. Mrs. Powell was a homemaker and worked for the former Adler's Dress Shop and Blumenthal's Dress Shop in Rochester. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a Grey Lady at Woodlawn Hospital, and a member of the Kappa Delta Phi sorority. Known for her upbeat, uplifting positive attitude and fondness toward people, she enjoyed music, dancing, sewing for her family, cooking, especially making desserts, crochet, belonging to various card clubs, playing euchre and bridge and was an avid reader. Survivors include her daughters, Jaren Gentile and Judy and husband Ivan Klobucher, all of Rochester; grandchildren, Ronald Gentile, Palo Alto, Calif., Kevin Gentile, Superior, Colo., and Kristen Stebbins, Rochester. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Rick Taylor officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of Fulton County or Grace United Methodist Church.
