Pat, a U. S. Navy veteran, served as Directing Business Representative for District Lodge 27 of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers, becoming its longest tenured agent, first elected in 1982.

A graduate of Ahrens Trade School and the University of Kentucky Labor School, he also attended Bellarmine College for Business Law. Pat served as a counselor with the Kentucky Special Olympics, and was a past Director for the Jefferson County Council of Retarded Citizens, Louisville Diversified Services, Louisville Heritage Weekends, and a past Labor Chairman of Metro United Way. Pat was also a Kentucky Colonel and a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

First though, he was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, son, uncle, cousin, friend and brother to his fellow union members. Family and community were his joy and he never hesitated to lend a hand, offer an opinion or stop by for a visit. A fighter in the best sense, no odds were ever too small or challenge so large to at least not try - and, with uncanny determination, accomplish.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather Frank Fromang, an early labor union organizer, and his mom who served as a union steward before turning to her true passion of antiques, Pat sought to create a fair balance for his brothers and sisters, ably representing them while respecting the needs of their employers. A man always on the go, he touched many lives. He will be greatly missed.

Pat was named for his grandfather, Frank Fromang and his mother Elinor's godfather, Patrick Gorman (1892-1980), who was her fathers best friend and co-worker. Gorman was national president of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workman of North America, now known as the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Buried from St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church.
