GEORGE E. FILIPETTI, 72, of St. Petersburg, died Jan. 27, 1991 at Wrights Nursing Home, Largo. He was born in New Jersey, and came to St. Petersburg in 1985 from Chicago, where he had spent almost 50 years in creative positions at well-known advertising agencies. In 1986, he retired from the Tatham, Laird and Kudner advertising agency as Director of Marketing Services. He attended Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass., and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, having been a member there of Chi Psi Fraternity. During World War II, he served in the Army in the 42nd Bomb Group as a bombardier/navigator on B25's in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Tides Country Club, American Legion Post 273 at Madeira Beach, and the Suncoast Dixieland Jazz Society. [His obituary was published in the St. Petersburg Times (St. Petersburg, FL) City Edition, Jan. 29, 1991]
