Eva Lea grew up and attended school in Green Forest, Arkansas and graduated from Green Forest High School in 1953. She was united in marriage to Joe Austin on December 4, 1954 in Olathe, Kansas. Two sons were born to this union.
Eva Lea enjoyed being outdoors, especially when working on their farm, and she also liked collecting antiques and reading. She was a bookkeeper for her husband's contracting business for many years.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them and visiting with her many friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Clifton Bradley; and by a sister: Laveda VanWinkle.
She is survived by her husband: Joe Austin of their home in Green Forest, Arkansas; her sons: Bruce Austin of Olathe, Kansas and Jeff Austin of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers: O.B. Bradley of Abilene, Kansas and R.D. Bradley of Olathe, Kansas; two grandchildren: Kyle Austin and Lesley Austin; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her very much.
Graveside services for Eva Lea Austin will be held Wednesday, May 7, 10:00 AM in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Mtn. Grove, with Rev. Tom Pickard and Rev. Kenny Asbury officiating. Burial will b e in the Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, MO. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
