Henry was the son of John Wesley & Hester Hatfield Ollinger. He married Etta McDowell, 24 Mary 1896, Lawrence County, Indiana. They had one son, John Wesley Olinger 1924-2019.

HENRY W. OLINGER

Henry W. Olinger ,78, of R. R. 4, was found dead yesterday morning at his residence. Coroner W. C. Telford will hold an inquest.

Mr. Olinger was born near Beecher City and spent his youth in Rochester. He was graduated from McKendree college, Lebanon. For many years he was a Methodist minister, having pastorates at Watson, Grandview and Freeport.

After World War I, in which he served as an army chaplain, he settled in Odin and went into private business. He moved in 1941 to Springfield where he resided since, spending his time farming. His wife, Etta McDowell Woodward, from Odin, died in 1932.

Mr. Olinger was a member of the Masonic order and the Methodist church.

Mr. Olinger is survived by one son, John, or R. R. 4; one sister, Mrs. Lavina Campbell, of Springfield; one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Remains were removed to the Ellinger & Kunz funeral home where friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and to time of services tomorrow. Rev. A. Ray Grummond will officiate and burial will be in Rochester cemetery.
