Robert L. ALBERTSON, Age 85 of Brookville, OH went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 18, 2009 with his wife of 58 years, Leah Albertson, at his side. He was born in Morgan county TN to the late Virgil and Gertie (Northrup) Albertson. He served in the US Navy on the USS Intrepid during WWII. After the war he moved to Dayton, OH and worked at McCall/Dayton Press for 36 years and for RTA an additional 12 years. He was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy for over 40 years. As well as being a faithful member, he served the church in several positions including clerk, treasurer and Sunday school teacher.
He was preceded in death by his brother Ernest Albertson, his sister Aletha Valentine and a nephew Ronnie Valentine.
He is survived by his wife Leah (Neal) Albertson, daughter Deborah L. Albertson of Columbus, OH, son Dale A. Albertson of Seattle, WA, sister-in-law Reva Faye Albertson of FL and nephew Mitchell Albertson of Dayton, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Rogers' Funeral Home, 324 W. Main St. New Lebanon, OH with Pastor Gary Justice officiating. Visitation will from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, OH.
