HOLDEN, Millard County--Mrs. Emma L. Ashby Stephenson, 75, died Saturday at her residence of causes incident to age.
Born October 9, 1876, in Holden, she was a daughter of William H. and Nancy Badge Ashby. She spent most of her life in Holden.
She was married to Simeon T. Stephenson December 15, 1897, in the Manti Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a member of the LDS Church and had been active in the Relief Society and Sunday School.
Besides her husband, she is survived by eight sons and daughters: mark Stephensen, Murray; Allen S. Stephenson, Holden; Blake Stephenson, Provo; Mrs. Mable McConkie, St. George; Mrs. Beatrice McConkie, Heber; Mrs. Irene Wasden, Cedar City; Thomas Stephenson, Ames, Iowa; Mrs. Donna Woodbury, Brigham City; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother, Mrs. Nina Wood, Mrs. Edith Stephenson and Mrs. Robert L. Ashby, American Fork.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Holden LDS Ward Chapel by Melvin Stevens, bishop. Friends may call at the family residence Tuesday prior to funeral. Burial will be in Holden Cemetery under direction of the Olpin Mortuary, Fillmore.

Emma Louisa Ashby (1876-1952) was the daughter of William Hardin Ashby and Nancy Maria Badger of Holden, Millard County, Utah.
She married Simeon Thomas Stephenson, the son of Simeon Stephenson and Rachel Letitia Stevens of Holden on December 15, 1897. They were the parents of nine children. Simeon's father was born at Bogenshoved, Jerslev, Hjorring, Denmark. His mother was the daughter of Albert Stevens and Lettie McKee of Pleasant Grove, Utah.
