Helen Lyons, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 18, 2009.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Helen was born May 22, 1923, in Pioneer, La., to Barney and Gaby Traxler. She was a Baptist and worked many years as a waitress. She married Presley G. Lyons in Amarillo on Dec. 23, 1966, and was happily married until he preceded her in death in 1994. She attended Jan Werner Adult Day Care Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jack Fife and Billy Joe Fife Sr.; two grandsons, Johnny Glenn Fife and Bryan Steward; two great-grandsons, Don Dwayne Lee "DJ" Jackson and Christian Dwayne Bunney; and a great-great-granddaughter, Sky Lee Jackson.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Steward and husband Roy of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Fife of West Monroe, La.; six grandchildren, Crystal Bunney of Austin, John Fife of Bastrop, La., Billy Fife of Pittsburgh, Albert Fife of Sterlington, La., and Jack Fife Jr. and Julie Gardner, both of Maryland; and five great-grandchildren, Landon Morrison, Cheyene Digman, Tripp Fisher, Patrick Fife and Herion Waters.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Helen Lyons, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, July 18, 2009.
