He owned & operated a baber shop & confections store in Depauville, New York for years. The building is still there near the little bridge in the center of Depauville. They lived in the back part, my mother used to tell about going there as a child.
He always kept a big jar of candy in his baber shop & all the kids around there would come in just to get a piece of candy. When asked once why he did it he said that they were all good kids & also his future customers, and they would remember someone who was kind to them as children.
When he retired they moved to Florida & lived.
He owned many good hunting dogs at one time & used to hunt with his nephews a lot. He loved not only hunting but fishing & being outdoors and children he was a very good, kind & gentle man..
