Funeral services for James Alfred (Jim) Hefley, of Webbers Falls will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 6, 1992, in the First Baptist Church in Webbers Falls with the Reverend Hamby Adams and Phil Pack officiating, Pallbearers will be 12 of his life-time friends, Don Hunter, B.F. Walters, Roy Barnes, Pete Finney, Cecil Wallace, Floyd Rozell, Carl Edwards, Ed Hill, Eddie Ward, Burl Chappell, Harvey Ellis and Notch Stone. Burial will be in Gore Cemetery under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls. The family will receive friends at Millsap Funeral Service from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Jim Hefley was born April 25, 1906, at Webbers Falls, the son of James Alfred and Virginia Emiline Hefley and died Friday, April 3, 1992, at the Gore Community Health Center.

Mr. Hefley married Frances Poteete in 1926 and to this union, 13 children were born. A former all of his life, Jim worked hard for his family and others. Though he was not born to wealth and fame, Jim was rich with friends and family. His last few months were spent in the loving care of the Gore Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Paul in 1933. Mr. Hefley was a lifelong resident of Webbers Falls and a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife Frances of the home; five daughters, Nancy of the home, Lahoma Spears of Gorre, Betty Tygart of Broken Arrow, Mary Fisher of Big Cabin and Glenda Eskew of Tulsa; seven sons, Fred and Daniel of the home, Benny of Claremore, Richard of Tyler, Texas, Frank of New Orleans, La., Luke of Costa Mesa, Calif., and James of Murphy, N.C.; brother, Maxie (Doc) Hefley of Gore; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and several friends.
