Pearl E. Christy 89, passed away Monday July 20, 2009 in Pascagoula, MS. Along with her late husband, the Rev. John T. Christy, she helped built the Gulf Coast Rescue Mission in Biloxi, MS. The Family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Plaza Nursing Center in Pascagoula for the care Mrs. Christy received over the past 17 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rev. John T. Christy, a daughter Midge Ivey, a grandson James Ivey, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law Grace and Bobby Sigrest, grandchildren; Christine Stanford, Darlene Roach, Nathan Sigrest, Robert Sigrest, Tony Sigrest and Margaret Brinkman, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson Andy McCoy. Visitation will Friday July 24, 2009, 10:00am to 12noon at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa. Services will begin at 12noon with Rev. Danny Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at Coleman Cemetery in Hurley. Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, locally owned and operated, is in charge of Mrs. Christy's arrangements.
