Survived by his son, Rocky Carter and wife Robin of Fresno; daughters, Diane (Bob) and Gerri (Kenny) all of Madera Ranchos; brothers, Charles Carter of Arkansas and William Carter of Washington; sisters, Bernice of Clovis and Shirley of Modesto;
8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by his wife, Rose and brother Vernon.

A.D. Carter was born in Wharton, Ar., on June 10, 1928, to Homer and Beatrice Carter. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2009, at the age of 81, after a brief illness.
A.D. came to the San Joaquin Valley as a teen and met his wife Rose just a few years later. Their three children were a constant source of pride and joy for him.
A.D. was a truck driver for most of his life, but what he enjoyed most was the time spent with his family playing dominoes, cards and games. A.D.'s fun loving spirit and hearty laugh were contagious and he was always ready to share his warm smile and good nature with everyone.
The family is grateful for the caring services of Royal Gardens residential facility.
A.D. was preceded in death by the love of his life Rose, his wife of 60 years.
He is survived by his three children, Diane Price of the Madera Ranchos, Geri Meddock of the Madera Ranchos, and Rocky Carter of Fresno; his eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Charles Carter of Arkansas and William "Junior" Carter of Washington; and his sisters, Bernice Osborn of Clovis, and Shirley Maples of Modesto.
Visitation will be held at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home, on Monday, July 27, 2009, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home, on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Sanger Cemetery.
