Sarah was the oldest of six children of Edward Bailey and his wife Mary Eyres Bailey. The other children were: Thirza, Emma, Maria, George Edward and Albert Bailey. Sarah married Samuel Foyle April 25, 1861 in Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire, England. Their first 3 children were born in England. Sarah and 3 children came to the United States in 1868 to join her husband who had come a little earlier. Their last child, Mary Foyle, was born in East Falls, Philadelphia, where they settled.
