OCEANA -- Oather Brian Stennett, 92, died Monday, Nov. 18, in a Beckley hospital, following a short illness.

Born March 11, 1899, at Clear Fork, he was the son of Edward T. and Mae Canterbury Stennett.

Mr. Stennett was a member, deacon and trustee of the Craney Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Stennett on March 16, 1979; and two sons, Finley and Roby Stennett.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas E. Stinnette, Marvin E. Stennett and Otis D. Stinnett, all of Oceana; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Toneda Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Kennedy Cemetery, Clear Fork.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Evans and Evans Funeral Directors, Oceana.

Pallbearers will be Damon Brown, Kevin and Oddie Stinnett, Marvie Stennett, Danny Williamson and Lundy Daniels.
