Daughter of the late Joseph P. and Dora Mae Piper Gibson, she was the widow of Dean Evans Scott (married October, 1950). She attended Phillips University in Enid, OK. She retired from Southwestern Bell, where she was chief operator. She was a member of the Garfield County Genealogical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was survived by three children, Marsha Benker and her husband Scott, Mike and Jaylene Scott, and Mark and Michelle Scott; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter, three brothers and five sisters. Her funeral was held at Christian Union Church on July 24, 2009, with The Rev. Ted Gibson officiating. She was a Find-A-Grave contributor.
