She came to Wisconsin in 1856 with her parents. they settled in Springville, Vernon, Wisconsin where she grew into womanhood.

On March 30, 1867 (marriage record has March 9, 1867), she was united in marriage to Samuel Wilson Van Dyke. of the same place. To this union thirteen children were born. leaving eight sons and two daughters to mourn her going, namely; Will Van Dyke of Bloomingdale, Philo of Chaseburg, Alex of Sparta, Fernie of Idaho, Lloyd, Cleveland, and Joe of Dell, Seymour at home who has cared for mother in her declining years, Mrs, Jared Larry of Sparta, and Mrs. Ed Buffton of St Johns, North Dakota.

She united with the Advent Church in Springville. She was ever true to her faith, thus she lived her life in a quiet way. She was a loving wife, and mother, kind neighbor and friend. Her husband departed this life in 1910.

Besides the children, she leaves 36 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. She is gone. Her children cherish the memory of a christian mother and arise up and call her blessed.

Sleep dear mother and take they rest. God called her home, he thought it best. He will take you home to heaven bright, and fill your soul with sweet delight. Ever with the blessed saviour, in his presence with thou stay, until we all come to greet thee on that bright celestial day.

Funeral services were conducted at the Advent Church at Springville, January 7 and Reverend Ferguson and Reverend Parr officiated. Six of her sons acted as pallbearers, and carried mother to her last resting place. Interment was in the nearby cemetery close to many of her loved ones.
