The remains of James Henry Scharff, who died at his home near virgel
sunday morning, Feb.19, 1933. where brought to this place Tuesday
afternoon and laied to rest in the Hartford Cemetery. He was 60 years 2
months and 19 days.
James Henery Scharff, son of Conrad and Elizabeth Scharff, born Nov.
24, 1872, near this place, where he grew to manhood. He was married to
Elsie Bell Boring at LeHarpe, Kan., Jan. 3, 1905. To this union were born
eleven childern, two of whom preceded him in death.
In 1922 he moved with his family to Missouri, where they lived until
1924, when they moved to Greenwood County, which has since been there
home.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Claud, Conrad and Basil, of
Virgel, six daughters, Mrs. Duane Talor, of Bartlesville, Ok., Mrs. Clifford
Briggs of Eureka, Kan., Mrs. Sherman Smith, Mrs. Lee Smith and Misses
Ann and Marie Scharff of Virgel. one sister and three brothers, Mrs. Frank
Ward and Fred Scharff of Waverly, Kan., Charles Scharff of Emporia and
Wm. Scharff of Walker, Mo.
