Harrel Richard Crawford, 70, of Alaska, died May 4 in Wasilla, Alaska. Born March 10, 1917 in California, Mo., he was the son of Rollen and Myrtle Williams Crawford He was a World War II veteran. While serving in Italy, he received the Good Conduct Medal and three Bronze Stars. He was an electrician for 55 years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers until his retirement in the late 1970s. He and his wife had lived in Alaska for the past 36 years.
He is survived by four brothers, Wilford and Kenneth Crawford, both of Caruthersville, Seth Crawford of Rochester, N.Y. and Leon Crawford of Roxana, Ill.
Mrs. Crawford, 74, died Dec, 25 in Valley Hospital in Palmer Alaska. Born Oct. 29, 1912 in Arkansas, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hagemann.
Graveside services for both were June 13 at 2 p.m. at Maple Cemetery, Jimmy Colvett officiating, H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville in charge.
