Funeral services for Mr. Roy Donald Phillips, 75, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Burial was in West Cemetery in Cookeville with Rev. Billy Haney officiating.
Mr. Phillips died Monday, July 21 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He worked at Rath Meat Packing Plant and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and United States Navy.
Born July 30, 1927, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jake and Mary (Carwile) Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Phillips of Livingston; a step-son, David Townsley of Lafayette, IN; a step-daughter, Diane George and husband, Bill, and Jackie Townsley, all of Livingston; two sisters, Pearl Crawford of Livingston and Ona Russell of Goodlettsville; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Richard Smith, Doyle Buell, Ben Goolsby, Harold Lynn, Kenneth Lynn, and Tommy Phillips.
