MULLENS—Funeral services for Gordon B, McGraw, who had been Mullens city clerk since 1946, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the first Methodist Church in Mullens.

The Revs. R. J. Chenoweth and George Heerwagen will officiate. Burial will follow In Sunset Memorial Park at Beckiey.

McGraw, a retired school teacher died Sunday at his Mullens Hill home. He was 68.

Born at what is now McGraws on April 20, 1885, he was the son of the late William Harrison and Pauline McGinnis McGraw.

He began his career in 1905 as a teacher and, except for a leave of one term, remained active in school work for 40 years prior to his retirement in 1946.

He was elected superintendent of Wyoming County schools in 1918 and on the expiration of this term in 1922 was appointed supervisor of Barkers Ridge District Schools, a post he held for 10 or more years.

During his leave from the field of education he served as cashier of the First National Bank ol Mullens.

Aside from his school duties, he also found time to aid civic and municipal affairs. He was elected a city commissioner on more than one occasion, the last time being in 1948.

He resigned the councilman's post in that year to accept the appointment of city clerk. He was educated at the Beckley Academy, Kanawha City Commercial College, Concord, and Marshall colleges, and George Washington University.
He held an A. B, degree in education.

He was president of the Mullens Rotary Club.

Surviving are his wife, Susan, a son, Barbe, two daughters, Norma, and Mrs. J. P. Stennett, all of Mullens; two brothers, Walter and James H. McGraw, both of McGraws; three sisters, Mrs. Pate Brooks Ravcncliff, and Mrs. Ott Brown and Mrs. Fulton Brown, both of McGraws.

The body will remain at Robertson and Foglesong Funeral Home in Mullens.

Pallbearers will be Mayor Joe Orr, Dr. B. W. Steele, Lewis Bolen, George Jenkins, T. F. Brammer, Hay Toler, W. A. Davis, and D. Grove Moler.
