Ernest Edward Dickson
South Bend--Ernest E. Dickson, 74, of 2706 Wall St., died at 6:30 p.m. Friday July 8, 1994 at St. Joseph Medical Center.
He was born April 8, 1920, in South Bend. He married Emily Tretiak on Feb. 8, 1942, in hibbard. She survives with a daughter, Jacquelyn Ann Janicki of Elkhart; a son, Kim W. of Elkhart; four grandchildren; two sisters, Rosellen "Dixie" Hunter of Rochester and Betty Ward of Mishawaka; and a companion, Pat Bryan of South Bend.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon to the time of services at 2 p.m. Monday at Holis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. The Rev. Gordon Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Memorials may be made to the Peace Education Fund of Indiana, 702 E. Douth St., South Bend.
Mr. Dickson retired in 1982 from Uniroyal. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a disabled Veteran. He was a member of Really Able People; a member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom; a board member for the National Organization for women; a member of National Association for the Physically Handicapped; a member of Pledge of Resistance; and a member of Citizens Action Coalition. He was a vice president of the Stroke Support Group.
