The death of Mrs. Mary C. Ball, a member of the Soldiers' Home, took place at that institution at 7:30 a.m. last Thursday, heart trouble being given as the cause of her demise. Mrs. Ball was born in Cass county, Mich., on December 22, 1849 [sic], and was 78 years, 1 month and 4 days of age. She was admitted to the Home more than twelve years ago, coming here from Kearney. Surviving are two daughters, Alma E. Cannon, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Lena May Ball, Los Angeles, Cal., and five sons, W. L. Ball, of Los Angeles, L. R., A. C. and Roy Ball of Los Angeles, and Wallace R., of Ravenna. Mr. Ball preceded her in death in 1924. Funeral services were held from the Home chapel Saturday afternoon with Rev. Ford Ellis, of the Christian church, in charge. Interment was made in the Soldiers' Home cemetery.
