Albert Francis "Al" Keating, a long time resident of Spring Creek, passed away at his home at the age of 83. Al was born to Joseph and Mary McCarthy Keating. He was educated in Parochial School and after graduating from high school, went to work in the mines. He later moved to California where he worked in several occupations, including handyman and welder in the shipyards, building Liberty Ships. Al moved to El Cerrito, CA where he met his wife to be, Arlene. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. They traveled extensively throughout the western states. On one of their travel, they discovered Spring Creek and decided to build their retirement home there. They build and finished the home themselves. He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Spring Creek; daughter, Cheryl (Keith) Grundman of Anchorage, AK; brothers, Joseph of Colorado Springs, CO, Glynn of Covina, CA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Keating.
