Wife of Joseph Thorn, mother of Charles Elva and Jennie. Daughter of Horace and Clarissa Hickok Wilson. Sister of Caroline, Alfred, Destemona, Milo, Sylvester, and Mercy Wilson.
Mary Louisa married Joseph Thorn on 19 December, 1955, in Monterey, Allegan, Michigan. The service was performed by S.W. Osborn, Minister of the Gospel, and witnessed by Mary Louisa's father Horace and her brother Alfred.
Mary Louisa met Joseph, when as a new resident to Allegan County, he boarded at and worked on the Wilson property.
After their marriage, they moved into a log cabin, farming their acreage, while they built their future home.
And what a home it was. Beautifully done with wainscoting on the lower walls with wallpaper above. Intricate overlaid wood design separating the two surfaces. A curved staircase.
The couple lived on the farm until 8 March, 1904, when they sold the property to Casper B Wehner, and moved into a house in Hopkins.
Joseph died 11 August, 1904, just months after leaving his wonderful farm.
On 23 February, 1918, Mary Louise transferred the house in town to Homer and Jennie Wilson Billings. This transaction also included the furniture, useful and ornamental belongings.
Mary lived in the house in town until her death.
Her death certificate has her dying March 18, 1918, buried on March 21, 1918.

Albert C. Wilson who was living with Joseph and Mary Louisa on the 1880 census, appears to be the son of Charles Theodore "Thete" Wilson.
