When Helen was only 17 yrs. old she came down with Yellow Fever. She never really regained her previous state of heath and I have been told that she experienced ill health for the most part of her entire life. Helen eventually died from complications due to some type of Kidney disease. Kidney disease seemed to be prone in the Olsen side of her family.

In mild cases, yellow fever causes fever, headache, nausea and vomiting. But yellow fever can become more serious, causing heart, liver and kidney problems along with bleeding (hemorrhaging). Up to 50 percent of people with the more severe form of yellow fever die of the disease
