She is the former MarJean Schmidt, born October 19, 1929, in the Town of Schleswig, daughter of the late Arvin and Ida (Heidemann) Schmidt.
On April 14, 1951 MarJean married Elwyn Heckmann at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1968.
On December 9, 1977 she married Edwin C. Rohde at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2003.
MarJean worked at the Salvatorian Center in St. Nazianz from 1947-1951 and farmed with her first husband in the Town of Meeme. After his death, she was employed at Christel Plumbing and Heating from 1968-1976.
She enjoyed doing embroidery and watching the Brewers on TV.
Survivors include her three children, Kathryn Heckmann of rural Kiel, Patricia Heckmann of Darboy and Daniel (Jeannine) Heckmann of Rio, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lucille and Kenneth Korb of Elkhart Lake, Mildred and Ray Melger of Cedarburg, Walter and Valeria of Howards Grove; her godchild and niece, Susan Zimbel; nieces, Dorothea, Elizabeth and Mary Korn.
MarJean was preceded in death by her son, James, in 1992; one brother, Arthur Schmidt; three sisters, Ella Schmidt, Erna Schmidt, and Irene (Nick) Fiebrink.
Burial in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Louis Corners.
