Royce J Turner "Roy"

At age 55, Royce left us far too early on Friday, July 24th, 2009. After many serious health challenges the last few years, he is at rest.

On November 24, 1953 Royce was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Elvin L. and Luana J. Turner. He spent the majority of his life in West Valley City and worked in many positions from a truck driver to a restaurant manager, a pilot and truck driver again. He graduated from Granger High School, shortened his name to Roy and went to work. Roy loved the open road, his family, his work buddies, and opportunities to share funny stories and jokes with anyone who was in listening range. He has a big heart, a simple easy going manner, an old fashioned work ethic and he was extremely generous in helping others.

He is survived by his mother, a sister Gayla (Craig) Petty, a brother Ralph (Judy) Turner and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Keith. His family is very appreciative of all of the efforts made by the IHC Hospital, the Murray Care Center, the University Hospital, and the Fairview Care Center in attending to Royce's needs.

On Wednesday, July 29th, at 11:00 a.m., a graveside service for family and friends will be held at the Larkin Sunset Gardens located at 10600 South and 1950 East in Sandy, Utah. Royce will be buried next to his father.
