Known as "Tressa" or "Tresa", she was a daughter of Ferdinand Phillip and Ida M. Banks. She spent her early years growing up on Marshall St. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was a younger sister to May and Viola. Along with her parents, she moved to Willow Grove, Upper Moreland Twp., Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania where she lived for many years. She enjoyed her sales position in an Abington Twp., Montgomery Co., department store. She remained close to both of her sisters.
Although I was not related to her, I grew up next door and have fond memories of "Tressa". As a young woman she had dark hair and always was well-dressed, a very fashionable person. After I married and moved away, I knew of her declining health. My mother was a big help to these two neighbor ladies, Tressa and her sister Viola, and their mother, Ida, in their final years. My mother, Alma, was the best caregiver/neighbor, and they were wonderful neighbors to us.
