He was born May 29, 1921, in Loup City, Neb., the son of Frank and Mary (Markvicka) Wojtalewicz. He grew up in the Loup City area and at the age of 18 he moved to the Dumont-Wheaton area, where he met Florence Hennen. They were married Feb. 19, 1943, and made their home on a farm east of Dumont, where they lived for 14 years. In 1959, they moved to a farm east of Herman. In 1961, they became residents of Herman. He moved to Riverview Heights Highrise in Fergus Falls in December 2000. He was employed as a farmer, custom combiner and truck driver. He took great pride in the years he maintained the grounds at Lakeside Cemetery in Herman. In recent years, he enjoyed working for area farmers right up until the fall of 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Florence, his wife of 51 years; and one sister, Maxine Nowak.
He is survived by three sons, Allen (Marian) of Moorhead, David (Darlene) of Rapid City, S.D,, John (Darline) of Breckenridge, and two daughters, Karen (Mark) Wicka of Libby, Mont. and Mary Jo (Larry) Schwarz of Fergus Falls; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild, to be born in July. He is also survived by three brothers, Floyd (Norma) of Appleton, Edwin (Lola) and Lavern (Janine), all of St. Paul, Neb.; and one sister, Zita Sekaras of Trenton, N.J.
