On March 10, 1945, a B-25J Mitchell (serial number 43-27976, nicknamed "Dutch") took off from Dulag on Leyte Island in the Philippines with (6) men onboard for a bombing and strafing mission against enemy targets in the Zamboanga Province on Mindanao Island in the Philippines. The plane was last observed flying toward the mountains in bad weather and was not heard from following the mission. Attempts to locate the missing crew members following the plane's disappearance were unsuccessful. Missing Air Crew Report № 13501.
