~ Chuck Brazier Obituary ~

Charles Douglas Brazier of Vancouver passed away Sept. 5, 2008, at Southwest Washington Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Longview, to Eugene and Sarah (Berg) Brazier. Chuck grew up in Castle Rock and graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1956. He resided in Vancouver since the early 1970's.

Chuck was an illustrator designer for Kenton Machine Works in Portland for many years and retired from Sherman Machine in Woodland. He was a volunteer at the Sharehouse in Vancouver.

He loved roadsters and other cars. He especially loved his 1932 Deuce roadster, which he won "Best of Show" in 1962 at the World's Fair. He was a talented woodworker. He enjoyed working on his Chris Craft boat, scuba diving in the San Juan's, the sun, gardening, riding his bike, hiking and camping in Ocean Shores with Debbie and Robert.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Robert Elgin of Marysville, Wash.; his mother, Sarah Brazier; two stepchildren, Mike and Colleen Finney; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Wilma Brazier; and two nephews, Gary and Jeff Brazier.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Steele Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Longview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Charles Brazier's name to Heart and Vascular Center SWMC Foundation, P.O. Box 1600, Vancouver, WA 98668.
