JOHN M’CARTHY DIES, AGED 67
Succumbs At Home Here Following Long Illness
John P. McCarthy, 67, died at 7:50 last night at his home, 936 North 13th street,
following an illness of over two years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 from the Pfeffer funeral
parlors and at nine o’clock from the Holy Innocents church. Burial will be made
in the Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. McCarthy was born March 26, 1868 at Delavan. He came to Manitowoc in 1895.
On October 16, 1897 he was married to Hannah Klein, who survives him. Mr. McCarthy
was employed here by the Portland Cement company.
Survivors, besides his widow, include two daughters, Mrs. Frank Thomas of Chicago
and Mrs. Emmett Norton of Milwaukee; two sons, John and Leo, both of Manitowoc;
and a sister, Miss Mary McCarthy of Delavan. Six grandchildren also survive.
The body will lie at the funeral home from seven o’clock this evening until the
time of the services Saturday.
