JOHN TRUEX CALLED TO HIS REWARD LAST EVENING
John Truex, one of Elwood's oldest was called to his reward by the death angel at five o'clock. Mr. Truex was born in Perry county, Ohio, in 1826 where he spent most of his early life. He has spent a great part of his long life in this part of the country and has a host of friends who are greatly grieved by their loss.
The deceased leaves a family of four boys and one girl all the heads of families. For some time Mr. Truex has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Rachel Worley, who resides on South Sheridan street. The funeral will be held Saturday morning at ten o'clock at the Gospel Workers church in South Elwood with the Rev. Mr. Kelley in charge. The interment will take place in the Frankton city cemetery. Mr. Truex was a veteran of the Civil War. He was a Private in Company A, 31st Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
