Catherine LaVone "Barney" Ayler, 84, of Chillicothe, formerly of Washington, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1923, in Tuscola, Ill., to Ernest Haywood and Laura Belle Ewing Curry. She married Ralph E. Braun on July 23, 1941, in St. Louis. He died on February 7, 1967. She later married Ozzie Zetterlind. He also preceded her in death. She then married Dean Ayler in May 1989 in Peoria. He survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Ann Wagner of Creve Coeur, Ill., four sons, Ed (Netta) Braun Jr. of Bolibar, Mo., Sam (Evelena) Braun of Pittsburg, Mo., Jack (Angie) Braun of Mapleton, Ill., and Jeff (Cris) Braun of Washington, Ill.; and one brother, Bob (Eva) Curry of Homassa, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and four brothers.

Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
