He was born April 7, 1912, in Austin Township to Joseph and Jennette (Robinson) LaPeer and had been a lifelong area resident. He married Frances J. Franzel Dec. 22, 1934.
A dairy farmer for many years, he worked for Pontiac Motors when he was younger. He served as Austin Township Clerk for 18 years. He was a life member of Cass City Masonic Tyler Lodge #317 and a member of Cass City First Presbyterian Church. The LaPeers wintered in Holiday, FL, for the last 30 years.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; a special nephew, Charles (Sharon) Franzel of Ubly; a brother, Gaylord (Charlotte) LaPeer of Cass City, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne LaPeer, who died Dec. 16, 1952, in a hunting accident.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 12, in the First Presbyterian Church of Cass City, with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment was in Elkland Towns hip Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Cass City. Arrangements were made by Little & Kranz Funeral Home, Cass City
