TILSIT FARMER KILLED AS WAGON TEAM BOLTS
Reinhold C. Mueller, 64 years of age, was fatally injured Tuesday while engaged in hauling logs at his home near Tilsit. While going down a hill with a heavily loaded wagon, the neck-yoke broke, and the wagon becoming uncontrollable, ran against the team, which bolted. Mr. Mueller was thrown from the wagon and the wheels passed over his body, crushing his chest and otherwise mangling him. His cries attracted attention, a physician was called and an ambulance secured, but the patient died in the ambulance before reaching the hospital.

The body was taken to the McCombs funeral establishment at Jackson and then transferred to the family home near Tilsit.

He was a native of this country, born near Gordonville on Oct. 25, 1871, and lived his entire life in this county. On April 18, 1909, he was married to Marie C. Wedekind of Tilsit, and since that time resided with his wife's family on a large farm.

Surviving him are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Marvin Bess of Tuckston, Neb., three brothers, Otto Mueller, Herman Mueller, and Wm. Mueller, of Gordonville, and three sisters, Mrs. Herman Eggimann and Mrs. Fritz Springer of Gordonville, and Mrs. Albert Sander of Cape Girardeau.
The funeral arrangements have not been completed, but the last rites will very likely be held at the Tilsit Lutheran Church Thursday.

Funeral announcement in the Southeast Missourian 30 Aug 1935.
