Mrs. Rebecca Greene Died Friday Night
Mrs. Rebecca McKinley Greene of 32 Bleachery street, Experiment, was dead on arrival at the Griffin-Spalding Hospital early Friday night. She was 82 and had been in declining health several years, even though her death was unexpected. A native of Pike County, she was the widow of Mr. Edward Greene. She was the daughter of the late Elijah McKinley and the late Mrs. Mary Jane McKinley. She was a member of the DeVotie Baptist Church She had resided in Griffin 18 years and before that she had lived at Brooks 20 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sam Waller and Mrs. Roy L. Dunn; a son, Merrill Ballard, all of Griffin; five grandchildren, two brothers, Douglas McKinley and Elijah McKinley, both of Zebulon. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the DeVotie Baptist Church. The Rev. A. C. Stephens and the Rev. Charles Fox officiated. Burial was in the McKinley family cemetery.
