Lyda 'Jane' Knight was born to Edmund and Lydia Ann (Combs) Knight, probably in Harrison or Floyd County, Indiana. Jane married James Monroe Bottomley on 18 September 1864 in Mount Vernon, Indiana; they had a dozen children. She died when she was 38 years old due to post partum hemorrhage after the birth of twins. Her father is mistakenly listed as Edward Knight rather than Edmund Knight on Death Certificate (Informant not named).
