Sybil Rice Bradey
Mrs. Bradey, 83, of Matthews, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Britthaven of Charlotte.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Bradey will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 1, 2009 at MorningStar Presbyterian Church with The Reverend Steve Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Bradey was born April 8, 1926 in Mooresville, NC, the daughter of the late John Leo Rice and Pauline Cowan Rice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Jeske and Doris Rice. Mrs. Bradey was a 1945 graduate of Central High School. She was a member of MorningStar Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Bradey was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was well known for her outgoing personality and sense of humor. She had a passionate love of life, family, and friends and devotion to her church. She always had a smile, an abundance of laughter, and kind words for all. She was an avid Braves baseball fan, and loved to garden and work puzzles.
Mrs. Bradey is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-two years, John R. Bradey, Sr.; children, Dr. John R. Bradey, Jr. and his wife Yvonne, Paul Bradey, and Janice Bradey Davis, all of Matthews; two grandchildren, Erin Bradey and Matthew Davis; nephew, Dr. Arthur Jeske; niece, Valerie Jeske Link; and her loving Jack Russell Terrier, Buster.
