Mrs. Mary A. Hamme, widow of Eli S. Hamme, was born July 2, 1857, and died in her home near Sinsheim, Pa., August 29, 1931, aged 74 years, 1 month and 27 days.
Mrs. Hamme had been the mother of a large family of whom five sons and five daughters who are still living to call her blessed. She was a good mother, a kind friend, and a loyal Christian.
The funeral services were held from her late home near Sinsheim, Pa., on Tuesday morning, September 1, 1931, with brief services at the house by her pastor, assisted by Rev. N. W. Sechler, York, Pa. The concluding services were held at the St. Jacob's (Stone) Reformed Church, of which Mrs. Hamme had been a faithful member for many years. The funeral text was 1 Thess. 4:13,14. Burial was made in the new cemetery alongside her husband who preceded her into the spirit world only six months before.
