Mrs. Charles B. Specht 55 of Quarry, a native of this county died Wednesday afternoon at the Eveangelical Deaconess Hospital where she had been a patient for the past 3 1/2 weeks. She had been in poor health for the past two years. Death was due to apoplexy.
Mrs Specht was born Rosa May Shelton, daughter of John C. Shelton and Eliza Jane ( Waltz) Shelton, Aug. 20, 1890 North of LeGrand in Marshall County, She had lived all but three years of her life in this county. She married Dec. 1, 1909, to Mr. Charles B. Specht in Marshalltown and they they moved to a farm in Grundy County for three years, then they lived in LeGrand for 10 years., 14 years on a farm in east Marshall Co. and for the past nine years in Quarry.
Mrs Specht is survived by her widower and four children, Mrs David. Adair of Chicago Ill., Mrs Charles Monroe of Rockford Ill., Mrs Truman Manship of Tipton and Charles B. Specht Jr. of Des Moines, She is also survivied by six grandchildren and four brothers and sisters, Ralph Shelton of this city, Mrs Bessie Langland of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs Lee Boswell of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Stanley Drury of Rochester, Wash.
Service will be held at the Pursel Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 2'Oclock and burial Albion Cemetery.
