John Kroehnke Chilton Times July 9, 1904

Died – The Times learns with regret of the death of John Kroehnke which occurred at his home in New Holstein on Tuesday, July 5, at the age of 62 years. Mr. Kroehnke was a native of Marne, Germany and was born March 22, 1842. He came to this country with his parents in 1848 and located at New Holstein where he resided until his death. In 1869 he engaged in the saloon business and continued in that line until about one year ago. For a few years he has been an invalid and although the best of medical aid was procured he could find no relief. He was a man who was honest and upright in all his dealings and held in high esteem by his neighbors and friends. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon and was largely attended. He leaves a widow, four sons and three daughters to mourn his death. The Times extends sympathy to the bereft family.
