Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 18, 1999, at 3:00 PM at Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church , 2400 Greenland Avenue, Charlotte, with Reverend Clinton Ceasar, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lancaster County, South Carolina. The family will receive friends this evening at 2101 Roslyn Avenue, Charlotte, from 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM. They will also receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:30 PM until the hour of the service.
A native of Lancaster County, South Carolina, Mr. Harris retired as a Truck Driver with Underwriters Salvage after several years of service. Having been predeceased by four brothers and three sisters, Mr. Harris survivors include his wife, Mary Graham Harris; three sons, Randy Harris and Shawn Harris (Angela) of the home and Bobby Harris of Charlotte; a daughter, Tammie Hemphill (David) of Rock Hill, SC; three sisters, Barbara Harris Hawthorne, all of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; a devoted aunt, Vera Mae Sanders of Charlotte; a special cousin, Melvina Cochrane of Charlotte; mother-in-law, Ella Mae Anderson of Rock Hill; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
